Outer lids (like the Prestige Popular) provide more vertical space and are generally easier to close. Inner lids (like the Prestige Nakshatra) offer an extra layer of safety as the pressure itself helps seal the lid tight, making it impossible to open until the pressure drops.

If steam escapes from the sides, ensure the rubber gasket is properly seated in the lid groove. Pro Tip: Before your first use, or if the cooker hasn't been used in a while, soak the gasket in cold water for 2-3 minutes or apply a tiny drop of cooking oil to the rim to create a perfect airtight seal.

Never force the lid open. Look for the Visual Pressure Indicator (usually a small colored pin on the lid). When the pin is 'Up,' the cooker is under pressure. Once the pin drops back down and no more steam comes out of the whistle, it is safe to unlock the lid.
